Muscle strain.: Hard to say on-line but you may have strained your sternocleidomastoid muscle. The muscle turns your head. The one on the left turns your head to the right. There are a few other muscles in there that could be involved as well. Probably normal: If your Dr didn't feel anything abnormal it's likely ok. See if you feel the same tissue on the opposite side. If you do it's probably a normal body structure or a collection of fatty tissue (lipoma). If the area grows in size have it rechecked. ...Read more

If it hurts when you drink cold or hot liquids, it's more likely a tooth that may be abscessed. You may need a root canal or even a tooth extraction, it's hard to tell.
