I got hit in the ear with a soccer ball today, but I can hear just fine. The area below my jaw hurts when I chew or open wide. Should I be concerned?
Left jaw hurting. Can't open mouth wide. Make weird grinding noise when I move it. Inner ear hurts and headache. Should I go to the hospital?
TMJ?: Could be pain due to TMJ problems. No need to go to hospital but should see a dentist or ENT specialist soon.
See a dentist: For an evaluation. It might be related to your jaw joints (TMJ) or something else.
TMD\TMJ: What you describe are some of the symptoms of temporomandibular joint dysfunction commonly referred to as tmj. Take some otc pain medication such as advil, motrin, aleve (naproxen) or what you would normally take for a headache. Stay on soft diet, don't chew gum, apply warm moist heat to area ; give it a few days. See a dentist who can better examine you for causes ; treatment options.See 1 more doctor answer
I have right jaw pain at cheekbone hurts to bite down & open mouth wide hurts to touch no cavities, what's causing it?
TMJ: It sounds like muscular pain or referred pain from trigger points. This can be due to the way your teeth bite together. It could be from a whiiplash injury. It could be a sinus infection. There could be an abscessed tooth that is interfering with your bite. You need to get an exam to determine a cause.See 2 more doctor answers
My jaw hurts on the left when I open my mouth or chew, clicking sounds when I yawn wide open and with pain. Is this dangerous?
Sounds like TMJ: You need a constant with a TMJ specialist
Why did I wake up with jaw pain? Sore on the sides by the hinges, hurts to press on the areas and when I chew or open my mouth wide
Possible joint: It sounds like you may have a possible TMJ problem. The best way is to check with your dentist. Sometimes you grind at night (may be a sleep disturbance), but pain indicates something is wrong. If there is clicking or noise in the joints you may have a joint dysfunction and pain on palpation may indicate a ligament problem, but check with your dentist for help or a referral.See 3 more doctor answers
My jaw has popped on occasion most of my life. Recently started c-pap and full mask. When I wake up my jaw hurts and is out of socket. I have to open mouth very wide and then it Pops back in. Feedback?
TMJ: It appears that your CPAP mask is aggravating an underlying TMJ problem. See a dentist trained in TMJ for an evaluation. This could be a prostodontist, oral surgeon or your general dentist if knowledgable in TMJ and sleep apnea. Changing your mask may help put your jaw in a healthier position during sleep.See 1 more doctor answer
Jaw hurts from time to time. Terrible headache. A lump appears when I open my mouth wide as well as a grinding sound. Ringing in ears and hearing loss
TMJ: It sounds like 'classic' TMJ, but a severe case. I recommend an ENT visit to examine the jaw for TMJ and also your ears and hearing to see if it's all related. Might be something else, but a good head and neck exam should pinpoint the problem.
Few days ago as I was yawning my jaw popped, always has. But now the right side jaw hurts to open, talk and eat. Could it be damaged?
Possibly...: Several types/ issues of clicking jaw... One is an anatomical issue related to opening too wide (like a snake), another related to slipping discs (like in one's back/spine)... Joint is likely inflamed... Soft diet, no opening wide, NSAID medications such as mobic, (meloxicam) alternating hot/cold compress and facial massage are a good start. Seek advice from someone who likes to treat TMJ disorders.See 2 more doctor answers

I started taking Flinstones MV w/ Iron 2 days ago, because I had anemia symptoms. My jaw hurts to open, temples are tender to touch. Are they related?
Not related: There is no relation between your vitamin intake/anemia and your jaw/temple pain. I would recommend seeing a doctor who can examine you and determine the cause for your symptoms.
I stepped on a rusted nail last Monday and cut my foot 3 days later it was still hurting so I went and got a tetanus shot just to make sure I would be ok. Now exactly 1 weeks after it happened I’ve had a headache all day and now my jaw hurts to open?
I am not: An infectious disease doctor so I just referred this question to Dr Hunter Hansfield. If Clostridium tetani did infect your foot eight days ago - I don't know if the tetanus shot that was at least 3 day out (you didn't specify which day you got the tetnaus shot was) would prevent Tetanus or not. Hopefully Dr Hansfeild or one of the other infectious Dz Docs will respond to your question.
TMJ pain: When you open wide the lateral pterygoid muscle and the retrodiscal tissue help keep the tm disk centered over the mandibular condyle. If the balance between the disk and ligament (tissue behind the disk) are out of sync then your condyle is pressing on muscle or ligament--causing pain. You need to see a dentist to determine exactly what is happening.See 1 more doctor answer
