It must be an effect: of nicotine, and not a good one! Perhaps the tiny blood vessel constriction one gets from a cigarette is compromising blood flow or just the simple stimulant effect of nicotine. I would interpret this as having an unusual sensitivity to nicotine and an indicator to not smoke at all...that she may be more sensitive than the average. Your ear wax may : have constant mild irritation, that you felt was "crawling inside". There should be nothing else in your ear canal. You may be feeling referred pain patterns from your TMJ (joint) from your ear canal inflammation. See your doctor and have this checked out. Go see your doctor: It's not clear to me whether you're describing otitis media (middle ear infection) or otitis externa (outer ear infection) or something else like eustachian tube dysfunction or temporomandibular joint disorder. I was told I have an ear infection in my left ear and given ciprodex and a ear drops for the pain. this was on Wednesday. it is now Sunday and I'm having pain in my right jaw. Could this be related?

TMJ: Consider the possibility of a TMJ problem. The most common cause of ear pain not related to ear problems. Assoicated symptoms include joint clicking, limited oral opening, headache. Yes: Sounds like you may have external otitis (swimmers ear). Your symptoms should promptly resolve. If not, see an ENT doc for assessment. If your jaw pain persists after ear symptoms abate, you may have a TMJ problem. In that case, see a TMJ expert. ...Read more

I currently have some kind of outer ear infection. All my jaw and my ear bones are very painful. Also inflamated ear canal. I took ibuprohene but not helpful. Was wondering if 1mg dilaudid for pain and cyprofloxacin or corticosteroid drop would help?

Hard to say: It is clear you have made some assumptions about what is going on. Without a proper exam, it is hard to consider using a prescription at all, much less a controlled drug that might hide important symptoms. Drops only work in some ear conditions, not most.
