Follow up: Your doctor probably is keeping you hyperthyroid which could cause the symptoms above. This is not worrisome as long as a good endocrinologist is following you regularly. Very unlikely: positive bone scan does not mean cancer any recent activity in the bone from recent healing,to a inflammation,to possible infection will cause hot spot on bone scan papillary thyroid cancer is not known to be super aggressive and the chance of metastases to the bone is super rare. check with your doctor most likely it will be something simple ...Read more
Clivus bone tumor: “Fibro-osseous”? Do you mean fibrous dysplasia? These tumors are very rare. Symptoms: headache (sometimes severe) near base of back of the skull. Pain made worse by moving the head/neck. Possible visual problems because of weakness of a nerve (cranial nerve #6) that controls eye movement. The eye will cross inward toward the nose. Pain and/or a mass: Since the cancer damage the surrounding bone, tiny fractures produce pain relatively early, perhaps a sudden fracture of the whole bone eventually. Small but definite -: Chance with your hx of prostate cancer. See your orthopod to get investigated. I am sure your oncologist must be following you if its only been 2 yrs since you had radiation. I am sure he (she) can also tell you. Prostate cancers are generally amenable to radiation treatments and pts do very well.
