Apart from adolf hitler and radovan karadzic what other genocidal war criminals are into quackery?
How to think about using genetically-modified bacteria (biotechnology) to fight cancer at johns hopkins.?
Be grateful: Biotechnology is the basis of much of modern medicine. All the scare claims, the vile language ("Nazi science! Tinkering with nature!") has come to absolutely nothing. When the benefits of gene work in human health became so obvious, the scaremongers switched their attacks to agriculture instead. You need to stop reading scare blogs and be grateful for the amazing new treatments we have today. ...Read more

China is: Only one source...There have been documented issues with least in the paint on toys imported from china. Do research on toys you want before you buy. In general though, there are toy scares on many levels. Small pieces, things that break easily and can be inhaled, etc. Use common sense. Children still love natures toys the best...Sticks, twigs, paper, boxes etc. Lol. They are so imaginative. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Warnings about fukushima ruining our diets are exploding on social media. I don't know who to believe or what. Fish? Water safe? Safe to go to beach?
Here some thoughts!: If you live in the us, then you do not need to be too concerned about what happened to beaches in japan. Yes going to beach is safe(japan water is too far and not all that high in radiation content so that even japanese can go to their beaches, other than close to the acciden fish is safe, it is checked for radiation exposure and outr waters are definitle safe. So quit worrying too much and enjoy. ...Read more

Zytiga (abiraterone acetate) or xtandi for pre-chemo castration resistant prostate cancer? Thoughts?
Politics: Perchlorate occurs naturally around the world and even on Mars. I'm concerned about many other pollutants, but not perchlorates. Human beings have been extremely high doses of the substance as the standard-of-care for several thyroid diseases for decades without any of the awful effects that activists are alleging. The studies I've read about don't even begin to suggest cause-and-effect. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Forgive my frankness: I don't care and you shouldn't either. The World Health Organization does some things very well, but it is extremely politicized, is controlled largely by non-scientists, and still has not dismissed the obviously-false claim that cell phone cause cancer, even after twenty years of zero good evidence. Your microwave does not produce ionizing radiation and is not a danger to you. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Wishful thinking: Jg, all of us -- myself included -- want to believe disinformation campaigns offering false hope. Yes, real medicine has problems. But think -- no conspiracy could be this vast. Real science is the most cutthroat of all human activities. If mms (industrial-strength bleach to drink), "vitamin b17" (usually amygdalin) or dichloroacetate worked, a real scientist would prove it & win the nobel prize. ...Read more
