PACs: If there is significant mitral regurgitation or prolapse of the mitral valve, these can result in atrial irritability. However your echocardiogram showed only mild regurgitation which is often asymptomatic and no other abnormalities. An outpatient Holter monitor would reveal the degree of atrial irritability and whether treatment is advisable. Your cardiologist is best qualified to answer your que ...Read more

PAC's: If you have had a full cardiac work up and everything was negative then you need to try to relax and avoid becoming so anxious. My ep prescribed flecainide for my benign pvcs/pacs. Should I get a 2nd opinion cause I'm scared to take a heart med for something that's "benign"?
PVCs: I'd recommend discussing the treatment with your ep and ask the question you did here. Benign pvcs are generally treated if they bother the patient enough that the patient desires to have them decreased to improve quality of life. The ep may have a specific reason......Don't be afraid to ask your doctors for information. ...Read more

SVT: Repetitive premature atrial contractions are a form of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) of which there are many forms. If a frequent problem, medicines can suppress them, so you would need to see your primary doctor. ...Read more

Can someone tell me what, pvcs, pacs, adn episodes sinus brady mean? These are the results of my 24hr heart monitor! Please and thank you!
Need more info: Sinus brady=normal rhythm but slow. In a healthy young person with no symptoms, that's generally not concerning-->usually a sign of good fitness. PACs & PVCs are premature atrial and ventricular beats--early beats originating in the upper & lower chambers, respectively. Just about everyone has occasional isolated early beats, but they can be more concerning if very frequent or in a row. ...Read more

No: Nothing on your Holter monitor findings is life threatening.
