Drs say pacs normal in otherwise structurally normal heart I have mild mitral regurg and pacs but never dx with nthing else is mine structurally norm?

PACs: If there is significant mitral regurgitation or prolapse of the mitral valve, these can result in atrial irritability. An outpatient Holter monitor would reveal the degree of atrial irritability and whether treatment is advisable. Your cardiologist is best qualified to answer your que ...Read more

My ep prescribed flecainide for my benign pvcs/pacs. Should I get a 2nd opinion cause I'm scared to take a heart med for something that's "benign"?

PVCs: I'd recommend discussing the treatment with your ep and ask the question you did here. Benign pvcs are generally treated if they bother the patient enough that the patient desires to have them decreased to improve quality of life. The ep may have a specific reason......Don't be afraid to ask your doctors for information. ...Read more

What is 5 seconds of pacs in a row called? Is it normal? Heart checked with echo and ecg

SVT: Repetitive premature atrial contractions are a form of supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) of which there are many forms. While not normal, it's generally more an annoyance than a concern & occur in normal hearts. A normal echo rules out most serious causes. Avoid stimulants (tobacco, caffeine, drugs). If a frequent problem, medicines can suppress them, so you would need to see your primary doctor. ...Read more

Is there any linkage between ketogenic diets and heart rhythm issues like PVCs or PACs?

In some cases, yes: Aaron,
There are some very small studies that suggest that ketogenic diets may increase the risk of arrhythmia in children with epilepsy by increasing the QT interval on the ECG.
There are no large studies of good quality that I am aware of that definitively show similar risks for PVC's or PAC's in otherwise healthy people. ...Read more

Can someone tell me what, pvcs, pacs, adn episodes sinus brady mean? These are the results of my 24hr heart monitor! Please and thank you!

Need more info: Sinus brady=normal rhythm but slow. In a healthy young person with no symptoms, that's generally not concerning-->usually a sign of good fitness. PACs & PVCs are premature atrial and ventricular beats--early beats originating in the upper & lower chambers, respectively. Just about everyone has occasional isolated early beats, but they can be more concerning if very frequent or in a row. ...Read more

Hi I have recently had a holter moniter for 6 days which showed sinus rhythm throughout occasional pvcs and pacs and a few 1 degree heart blocks. Also isolated wenchebach at night could u help I am severely anxious that it's serious?

No: Nothing on your Holter monitor findings is life threatening. Having said that, not sure of the clinical scenario that prompted you to get one to start with, nor do I know your age and/or if u r on any medicines that may cause some of this as a side-effect. Either have a frank discussion with the doctor ordering and interpreting your Holter or request a consult on this platform. ...Read more

Pacs/pvcs after excerise while heart slows down back to normal or from standing to laying down until heart rate stabalizes. Had 24hecg, ecg, echo.

Normal: Having some ectopy (extra heart beats) is normal post exercise. If the ecg, echocardiogram and holter are normal, there's nothing to worry about. Make sure you have plenty of potassium and magnesium in your diet, as low levels of both can increase the ectopy. ...Read more

Bloodwork chest xrays ekgs stress test echo`s. 24hr and event holter came back good. Still having annoying pacs/heart fluttering any thoughts on this?

Palpitation: Fluttering or palpitations can occur due to irregular heart beat like pacs, but some patients can feel it even with a completely normal rhythm. Rest assured that in the absence of a persistent abnormal rhythm pacs, even with fluttering is not dangerous. If you feel it frequently and there get too annoying talk to your dr about non-pharmacological lifestyle changes or medication to suppress them. ...Read more
