In vitro fertilization is an assisted reproductive technology. Ivf is a procedure used to treat fertility problems and assist with the conception of a child. I had my IVF transfer 13 days ago and done a home pregnancy test today does this mean that the IVF has failed?
Pregnancy test: If you had a retrieval 2 - 3 weeks ago and the test is positive, the test isn't early and you are pregnant. Still, the pregnancy may not continue so your doctor may continue to monitor the levels to see if they are going up appropriately. Then, a sonogram will confirm the pregnancy. Still, you can miscarry so you should follow your doctor's instructions. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I got pregnant via ivf, spotted for 2 weeks, had a home pregnancy test on the 5th week and it showed negative. I am confused?
No longer pregnant: A urine pregnancy test done correctly gives a reliable result by this time. If the test is negative, that means there is not a pregnancy. One can repeat the test, using a different brand of test, and/or call the ob-gyn for advice. It is normal for many conceptions and early pregnancies not to be successful, as that may be one way the human body works to ensure the healthiest babies are born. ...Read more
I was do IVF on17/3/2014, the pregnancy test -ve. Till now the cycle will not come. What can I do?
Repeat the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

I am finishing up my IVF and I have taking a pregnancy test even though I know it's yo early to tell the pregnancy test was positive. Is this possible?
Trigger shot gave +: The first pregnancy test you took, if too soon after the embryo transfer, was probably positive from the HCG 'trigger shot' that you took before your egg retrieval (hcg is pregnancy hormone). If you had a blastocyst-stage embryo transfer, wait 9 days post transfer before taking a pregnancy test. Talk to your clinic. Best wishes. ...Read more

After IVF failure and after stopping progesteron, if my period did not come what does that mean and can beta hCG test be wrong.?
It can be wrong...: Hcg can be wrong (rarely), so I recheck it if a period didn't start 7-10 days from stopping progesterone. More likely, bleeding won't start until the prog. Leaves your system, which can take a week or more, depending on that type of Progesterone you were using and how high your levels were when you stopped. Also, ovarian corpus luteum cysts can make Progesterone and that can prevent a bleed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Delayed menses: If the pregnancy test was negative, your period is simply delayed. Many things can cause a delay from stress to lack of ovulation.
