Still too early: It may be too early to test to see if you are pregnant. But if you are not the fact that you are probably on Progesterone will delay you period for many days past tge two week mark. ...Read more

Ivf (Definition)

In vitro fertilization is an assisted reproductive technology. Ivf is a procedure used to treat fertility problems and assist with the conception of a child. During ivf mature eggs are retrieved from the ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab. A few days later, the fertilized egg (embryo) or eggs are implanted into the uterus. One cycle of in vitro fertilization ...Read more

Can twins cause an early false pregnancy test I mean like at 2 or 3 weeks after ivf?

Can twins cause an early false pregnancy test I mean like at 2 or 3 weeks after ivf?

Pregnancy test: If you had a retrieval 2 - 3 weeks ago and the test is positive, the test isn't early and you are pregnant. Still, the pregnancy may not continue so your doctor may continue to monitor the levels to see if they are going up appropriately. Then, a sonogram will confirm the pregnancy. Still, you can miscarry so you should follow your doctor's instructions. ...Read more

I got pregnant via ivf, spotted for 2 weeks, had a home pregnancy test on the 5th week and it showed negative. I am confused?

I got pregnant via ivf, spotted for 2 weeks, had a home pregnancy test on the 5th week and it showed negative. I am confused?

No longer pregnant: A urine pregnancy test done correctly gives a reliable result by this time. If the test is negative, that means there is not a pregnancy. One can repeat the test, using a different brand of test, and/or call the ob-gyn for advice. It is normal for many conceptions and early pregnancies not to be successful, as that may be one way the human body works to ensure the healthiest babies are born. ...Read more

I was do IVF on17/3/2014, the pregnancy test -ve. Till now the cycle will not come. What can I do?

Repeat the test: Home pregnancy tests are very accurate. They are the same tests used in a doctors office. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. If you doubt the result you can repeat it in 1-2 days. If you were pregnant the hormone level would rise enough for detection. ...Read more

Depends: You do not say what today is so-- if you had a day 5 embryo transfer a pregnancy test can be performed on may 17th. But best to follow the directions of your ivf team and test when they tell you and not before! ...Read more

I am finishing up my IVF and I have taking a pregnancy test even though I know it's yo early to tell the pregnancy test was positive. Is this possible?

I am finishing up my IVF and I have taking a pregnancy test even though I know it's yo early to tell the pregnancy test was positive. Is this possible?

Trigger shot gave +: The first pregnancy test you took, if too soon after the embryo transfer, was probably positive from the HCG 'trigger shot' that you took before your egg retrieval (hcg is pregnancy hormone). If you had a blastocyst-stage embryo transfer, wait 9 days post transfer before taking a pregnancy test. Talk to your clinic. Best wishes. ...Read more

Pregnancy test positve 1-2 weeks on sept 6 (ivf), but no gestational sac on scan, hCG 297 on 18 sept.?

Shouldn't at 297: With quant of 297 it would be impossible to see a normal gestational sac, generally it must be 1500 or above. The quant sounds low based on the dates you give; I'm certain your ivf doctor can help. ...Read more

7 days past my IVF egg transfer & home pregnancy test was negative. Does this mean im not pregnant?

Too early to test: Your ivf/et doctor should have given you a specific date for you to test according to what he/she wishes. I have my patients schedule 12 days after egg retrieval in fresh cycles, with frozen cycles (fet) it depends on what stage the embryos were frozen. ...Read more

After IVF failure and after stopping progesteron, if my period did not come what does that mean and can beta hCG test be wrong.?

After IVF failure and after stopping progesteron, if my period did not come what does that mean and can beta hCG test be wrong.?

It can be wrong...: Hcg can be wrong (rarely), so I recheck it if a period didn't start 7-10 days from stopping progesterone. More likely, bleeding won't start until the prog. Leaves your system, which can take a week or more, depending on that type of Progesterone you were using and how high your levels were when you stopped. Also, ovarian corpus luteum cysts can make Progesterone and that can prevent a bleed. ...Read more

Repeat the pregnancy test again, and if still negative, see a GYN MD for an exam in one week and a possible medication offer to "jump start" your period. ...Read more

Can you have a period before a confirmed pregnancy test?

Kinda, sorta. . .: By definition, your period/menses represents cyclical shedding of your uterine lining. However, period/menses is not the only cause of bleeding. In fact, implantation spotting is often mistaken for period/menses. So while you can't have a period immediately before testing positive, you can bleed/spot. ...Read more

Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date.
