Ultrasound can give us two-dimensional, and in some applications three-dimensional, images of structures and organs in virtually any part of the body. In addition to diagnostic uses, such as evaluating abnormalities in the abdomen, pelvis, and breast, ultrasounds are commonly used to guide needle and catheter placement in a variety of surgical ...Read more

Genetics: There are 2 main reasons why ivf can fail. One is a problem with the uterus. A fibroid, polyp, scar tissue, or an inadequate thickening of the uterine lining. Assuming that is not the case, the most likely reason is a genetically abnormal egg. At age 39, almost half of all eggs are genetically abnormal. When that occurs and a pregnancy implants there is a 90% chance of a miscarriage. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hi. If my wife and I do IUI or IVF for our first child, will we have to do IUI or IVF if we decide to have a second child? My wife is 32 and i'm 34.
It's a choice?: 6 cycles of IUI on injectable medications costs around the same as one cycle of ivf. One takes 6+ months and ivf takes 6 weeks. Here is the "rub". 6 cycles of IUI is not as successful as 1 cycle of ivf. So it is a choice. By doing iui, you "gamble" that it works in 2-3 attempts and save money; but if not, than ultimately it costs more because when IUI does not work, you have to go to ivf. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
