Ivf Fetal Development
Estrogen level high at 1094 in wk 6 of IVF pregnancy. Does this affect gender development of brain and sex organs of fetus? Should I decrease estrogen
In vitro fertilization is an assisted reproductive technology. Ivf is a procedure used to treat fertility problems and assist with the conception of a child. During ivf mature eggs are retrieved from the ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab. A few days later, the fertilized egg (embryo) or eggs are implanted into the uterus. We did IVF with pgd and used a 5 day blastocyst. We went for transvaginal U/S and all measurements were good except fetus messured at 6weeks 2days instead of 6weeks 5days. Also we didn't hear/see a heartbeat. Should we be concerned?
Await another week: I know this is difficult, but see what the next week brings. Stay positive ...Read more

6wks, 6days post ivf, tech can see fetal pole & sac, no heartbeat. Had gush of blood a few days earlier. Hcg still rising. Is this a miscarriage?
IVF miscarraige: 1) congratulations on you becoming pregnant. 2) this cannot be determined at this time. In your favor: rising hcg presence of pole unfavorable of course is the "gush of blood". However, bleeding sometimes occurs with implantation of the embryp/placental growth. Make sure you're not rh- with a presence of fetal pole, you should see a fetal heart in maximum one week with a normal pregnancy. ...Read more
We had IVF with PGS and 5d blastocyst. When our embryo was 6w4d, we saw 13mm empty GS w/o yolk sac and fetal pole. hCG doubling. How likely is it BO?

IVF, 7 weeks pregnant but scan shows 6 weeks, 1 five day blastocyst,I have 2 gesational sacs, one has a fetal pole and yolk sac and 2nd has nothing???
Repeat Ultrasound: After IVF, one can see several different scenarios. It is best to wait and repeat the ultrasound. Do not feel anything is wrong till a repeat ultrasound is done. Early ultrasounds can be confusing. sometimes, twin pregnancies happen even with 1 blastocyst transfer as the blastocyst can divide. However, growth discrepancy can happen and one may survive and the other may not. Good Luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
