Is the sart score the best way to pick an IVF clinic? Are there things that can skew those numbers up or down?

Is the sart score the best way to pick an IVF clinic? Are there things that can skew those numbers up or down?

Many ways to skew #s: Success rates matter when choosing a clinic but patient selection skews them. A center that helps as many patients as possible to try ivf with their own eggs will appear to have "lower success rates" than one that directs women to donor egg sooner or turns patients away. Comparing donor egg success rates is more 'apples to apples'. Recommendations from friends, former patients, referring mds count. ...Read more

Is cumulus aided transfer a proven technique to increase implantation success in IVF procedures ? Which clinic in the us utilizes this technique ?

Is cumulus aided transfer a proven technique to increase implantation success in IVF procedures ? Which clinic in the us utilizes this technique ?

No: This technique, which adds cumulus cells from inside ovarian follicles to the ivf mixture, has not been shown to improve ivf success whatsoever. As ivf centers strive to improve pregnancy rates, if this was shown to help, this simple technique would be widely employed (but it's not). If you're doing ivf, find a center with the highest ongoing success rates you can afford. See us at www.Ivfmd.Com. ...Read more

Looking for clinic doing IVF with icsi?

Looking for clinic doing IVF with icsi?

Any IVF Clinic: Virtually every ivf clinic performs icsi. Icsi is the most important advance after ivf for treatment. Icsi should be limited to severe male factor cases where the sperm cannot get into egg without assistance. If you need it then there is no other treatment. Male factors = 35% of ivf cases but icsi used 65% nationally. Recent study highlights risks (http://1.Usa.Gov/kzpobx). Best wishes. ...Read more

Unusual: That's an unusual approach, at least in the us it would be...But you should always always always follow the instructions of your ivf specialists, ivf is not a committee opinion. If you don't understand 'why' you are instructed to do something, do not take a survey of other doctors, ask your doctors for explanation. ...Read more
