Can I get pneumonia easier a third time if I've had it twice?

Not necessarily: However, there are medical conditions that can increase your chance of developing pneumonia, so recurrent pneumonia should be evaluated. If the pneumonia always occurs in the same part of the lung, it may be due to an anatomical lesion, which requires further investigation. ...Read more

Subtle Pneumonia: Either you do or don't have pneumonia. It may have been sounds heard by a stethoscope or your symptoms but not present on CXR. This would be enough evidence to treat. Sometimes these are called " soft signs". ...Read more

Pneumonia I've had since3//11/ 14 I can't seem to get rid of it, how kingdoms it usually take?

A while: I presume you are feeling better, the fever should be improved, though cough is milder. If that is the case then you are getting better. Many people have residual cough and fatigue for several weeks after. In my experience most people are not back to normal for about 6 weeks. But it is pretty variable. If you are not any better, go back to see your doctor. ...Read more

I've been diagnosed with pneumonia it's better to use a hot water vaporizer or cold water vaporizer to keep my moist?

Any if no burn risk: The humidity is effective either way. If there are children who may get burned by hot water use cold water! Often the hot water vaporizers are better designed for adding menthol (ie Vick's Vaporub). Some find this to be soothing and some find it helps their breathing. ...Read more

I was recently diagnosed with pneumonia. I've been taking meds for 3 days now. Blood is still showing up in my phlegm. Should blood be gone by now?

Phlegm: The blood tinged mucus may persist for days. As your shortness of breath, fever, and painful respiration improve, the blood in the mucus will soon get better too. At times, there could be a nasal/rhinitis component owing to the bloody phlegm. Best wishes. Follow up if not totally better after treatment. ...Read more

Can I exercise while I have walking pneumonia? I've been on meds and an inhaler for 4 days and the only thing bothering me is a slight cough

Yes: This generally means they do not consider you at much risk for being hospitalized and should respond to outpatient treatment. You can push through your exercise routine and back off if you get dizzy/feel faint or realize your body is telling you to slow down. ...Read more

I have a cough and have started moaning as I fall asleep. I've only ever done when I had pneumonia around 18 months ago. Should I be concerned?

Possibly: But cannot diagnose you over the internet. If you are feeling poorly it never hurts to get somebody to examine you. On the other hand, if you have no other symptoms (fever, chills, shortness of breath, chest pain, etc.) it is not likely that this is pneumonia (although atypical pneumonias do occur). Go and see a doctor. ...Read more
