See endocrinologist: The lump may or may not be thyroid. Your thyroid blood tests are confusing, all are on the low side. Are you taking thyroid hormone supplements? For starters, i recommend seeing an endocrinologist, getting a thyroid ultrasound, and repeating the labs by a reputable lab. The lump could be part of a benign goiter or cyst, but you need to check for something more serious. ...Read more

Lipomas,lymph nodes: A lipoma will feel free floating in the skin. You will not feel a boarder to it. A lymph node will have better definition to it. It also will feel deeper. Lymph nodes enlarge with a history of infection among other things. Have it checked out by your primary doctor. He/she will examine you and may do blood work looking at your white cells. Probably ok but >>: Usually lymph nodes less than 1 cm are insignificant, and those over 2 centimeters are more worry some. In a young healthy patient with no other symptoms, and no increase in the size of the lymph node over one year, it's unlikely that this 1 cm lymph node is significant. You need an examination to evaluate for lymph node enlargement in other sites. Dr will decide if you need if you need a biopsy. ...Read more

Second opinion: Never ignore neck "lumps"- can be lymph node swelling or irritation of the local tissues: in a child. I would recommend further evaluation blood testing and if needed a simple biopsy. Definitely call your physician and ask about a second opinion. ...Read more
