I've only gained 3 pounds during my pregnancy. Is this normal?

I've only gained 3 pounds during my pregnancy. Is this normal?

Not normal: Typical weight gain is 25 - 30 lbs. However, the fetus takes all the energy from mom that he/she needs to grow properly. Mom would have to severely starve, before the fetus lags behind in growth. In fact, I have seen overweight women loose weight during their pregnancy, and still having a healthy baby. ...Read more

Is it ok to lay on your back during pregnancy? I've heard its not but im unsure?

Is it ok to lay on your back during pregnancy? I've heard its not but im unsure?

As you get toward the end and the baby and uterus is large, laying directly on back can compress mom's blood vessels (aorta and vena cava), and with that can reduce blood flow to the placenta. So it's best those last 6-8 weeks to stay off direct back and blood flow is best laying on the left side. ...Read more

Is havin anxiety normal during pregnancy i've never had anxiety or butterflies before this and it not that i'm nervose about anything it just comes on sometimes?

The fact that you're asking on this forum shows your concern -- so i'd suggest speaking with your doctor about this. Anxiety disorders can either show up, or exacerbate, in pregnancy -- best to deal with things early. ...Read more

Would it be ok for me to take Adderall during my pregnancy? I've been taking it for 5 years

Adderall: Adderall is labeled as "category c' with regards to it's use in pregnancy. What that means is that it has not been tested sufficiently in pregnancy to be able to give a definitive answer. That being the case, i would not risk harm to your unborn child if it is at all possible to stay off Adderall during your pregnancy. ...Read more
