How to abort status migrainosus in pregnancy? Been 6 days, tried Norco, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) IV morphine, IV magnesium sulfate... Nothing works more than 3-4hrs. Pls help!

Define overdose: If you mean high mag levels after mag sulfate I.V. Was given, then you need to know that mag level can be elevated after I.V. Dose, temporarily, until it shifts spontaneously into mag storage. I.E. It is okay to be hi right after I.V. Dose. It is not ok to stay elevated a few days later. Depends on dose: Too much will cause diarrhea, and Magnesium Sulfate by mouth tastes bitter. 1 tablespoon of epsom salts dissolved in 6-8 oz water is a laxative dose, and it tastes quite horrible, but it is as safe as taking any other form of magnesium.
