Depends: Usually bleeding will start 14-5 days after your retrieval. If you have a day 3 transfer that is 11-12 days later or 9-10 days after a day 5 blastocyst transfer. If you are taking Progesterone supplementation it may supress bleeding even if you are not pregnant. The period will usually start 1-2 days after stopping progesterone. ...Read more

Small dark brown blood spotting on day of expected period, and on and off for three days with pms. Period or implantation bleeding ?

Small dark brown blood spotting on day of expected period, and on and off for three days with pms. Period or implantation bleeding ?

A person can't tell: Wait a few days. A positive pregnancy test can tell a woman that PRIOR spotting was actually implantation spotting. It can be hard to tell if she is pregnant because some of the symptoms seen in early pregnancy can also happen in non-pregnant women. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result about 3 weeks after sex, 1 week after missing a period, or 1 week after having a "weird" period. ...Read more

7weeks since vaginal hysterectomy. Had intercourse first time, some bleeding and cramping. Is that normal??

7weeks since vaginal hysterectomy. Had intercourse first time, some bleeding and cramping. Is that normal??

Yes: Not uncommon to see/feel that. Go slowly and be patient. The top of the vagina has been sewed closed so the area is still somewhat raw, resulting in spotting and the act of intercourse can cause cramping. As long as no fever/chills, purulent discharge or heavy bleeding; no worsening of symptoms, then you should be OK. If you haven't had a post-op check, now would be a good time to see your GYN. ...Read more

Positive ovulation test then heavy bleeding and bad cramping next day. 3rd day still bleeding heavy, cramping light to none. What is happening?

See below: Unusual menstrual cycles don't necessarily mean that there's anything wrong physically. The menstrual cycle is under very delicate hormonal control, which can be influenced by things such as exercise, rapid weight change, emotional stress etc. But to be safe: see your GYN if you continue to have abnormal bleeding. After trying to conceive day of ovulation, 3 days later i experienced spotting cramping then bleeding, could this be implantation bleeding if not what?

Probably breakthru: 'implantation bleeding' is subtle and unpredictable, if it can be interpreted at all. Internet gossip over-emphasizes the idea of 'implantation bleeding.' implantation always happens 6-7 days after fertilization, so that's the only time you could see it. ...Read more
