Thrombocytopenia : Hello and welcome to HealthTap, there could be multiple causes of low Platelets. ITP by enlarge have low platelets but we may see normalisation periodically, remember it is diagnosis of exclusion. Continue follow up: Continued hematologic follow up is necessary to address anemia. May or may not be related to itp. Blood loss would lead to iron deficiency. He may not be absorbing iron or dose may be too low. But other reasons could exist for persistent anemia. Therefore, pediatric hematologist intervention is appropriate. ...Read more

Hsp: hsp doesn't cause any changes in platelet count. I am not sure what do you mean been in and out of remission. The chronic issues with hsp is the blood in the urine, butost of the time it is microscopic. Blood pressure need to be monitored.
