The american academy of pediatrics recommends calling your dr if your baby is older than 6 months w a temp of 103 or higher with sxs like coughing, earaches, fussiness, vomiting, diarrhea, no appetite or marked lethargy. I would be more concerned about the dry mouth and find out the cause. Cannot say: Unfortunately, your symptoms aren't enough to tell if you have strep throat. You will need a throat swab which can be sent for a rapid strep test and culture. Sometimes the rapid test is wrong too, so waiting for the final culture results is the only way to know for sure. ...Read more

See a doctor: White spots on the tonsils could mean strep throat, but not necessarily. It could be a virus, and either one could cuase laryngitis with loss of voice. There are other less common infections as well that could do this. But if strep, you definitely need to know in order to get an antibiotic prescription. See your doctor ASAP. Good luck! ...Read more
