Pityriasis.: Sounds like pityriasis rosea. Hard to tell without more descriptons or photos, but often this rash follows skin lines and gives a christmas tree like appearance on the back. Benign - resolves in a few weeks without any residual effect. ...Read more

Dermatitis: Sounds like you have a dermatitis (not otherwise specified) and an exam would define it more specifically. Most dermatitis like, itchy skin eruptions can be treated with a topical steroid and Benadryl (diphenhydramine) as an antihistamine (which can also help with the itch). If severe, then get derm eval. See doctor: It is hard to tell what may be causing it without a direct exam. Nonetheless you may try taking antihistamines to see if they help. A dermatology consult may be required if antihistamine does not help or the problem is getting worse.
