Swollen left side of scrotum. Testicles are normal only the scrotal skin. Itchy. Could it be angeoedema? Could it be life threatening?

My 11 yr old son has a sore, swollen scrotum. Both testicles seem fine, the center area between is swollen, skin around the area is itchy and burns.
? angioedema...: At age 11, the first that comes to my mind is spontaneous twisting of appendages inside scrotum. If the contents inside scrotum are normal by history, palpation, and optional ultrasound, I would consider if he has angioedema of scrotum. Of course, a good history and adequate physical exam would help a diagnosis. If any doubt, see expert timesly. Good luck.

Medical Exam suggest: Any skin lesion that bleeds is suspect for Cancer. If it has grown in size recently, that makes it even more concerning. So you must see a doctor and get this lesion examined to be sure that it is not something like a melanoma which tends to bleed easily. A biopsy or excision of this lesion may be indicated once you see the doctor and discuss with him the nature of the problem and how to treat it
