Possible bursitis : It might be possible this is associated with bursitis which is an inflammation of an inside knee bursae( like a protective sac) which could be caused by injuries, overuse, infection or inflammatory disease. If you have suffered any injuries ligament or meniscus tear is another possibility, but for final determination it is good to be seen. Meds like Ibuprofen usually help.
