Allergic to Effexor xr.. Been taking it for half a yr drs didnt know why I had rashes/itchy skin swollen etc. :-( been taking for half a year?

Acquired allergies

Rash
Most reactions to medications including hives and dermal hypersensitivity reactions are acquired and occur after you have taken the medication for a while. Once you are allergic, if you stop and then take the medication again, the allergic reaction can happen more quickly.

Dr. Martin Raff answered:

Do you think I have leukemia? It started with a sore throat, rashes, bruising, itchy skin, muscle pain, nerve pain? It's improving. Had no fever.

Unlikely

Leukemia
These symptoms can be interpreted many ways, but if leukemia were present (which is very improbable) the symptoms would not improve, but get progressively worse. Sounds as if you have been reading texts looking for a diagnosis and are learning that there is more to medical practice than is written down. See a good clinician. Good luck and get better soon.

Stomach pain, acid stomach, brown and red itchy skin rashes, everytime i eat something with acid it will bother me at night during my sleep. Help!

See your doctor

Itching
It looks like you have 2 problems, stomach pain and skin rashes. You might have acid reflux / gastritis or peptic ulcer diseases. You can try OTC antacid or acid reduction meds like Zantac in the meantime but you need to be seen and evaluated to have it treated correctly. Also it's almost impossible to know what your skin rashes might be if we don't see it. Your local doctor can help.

Sounds like you may have some eczema, although this isn't the most common place for it. It would be best to let a doctor look at these rashes -- start with your primary care doctor, and if need be, see a dermatologist. Good luck to you.
