Have it examined: Have it examined by your local dermatologist. It may be a harmless (benign) lesion (ie, benign nevus, angioma, fibrous papule) or it could be a melanoma or non-melanoma skin cancer. Please try to stop picking it. Even if it is harmless it may be removed to prevent you from further irritating/infecting it. ...Read more

Itchy outer ear: Hello. Using cold compresses to the ear will immediately help to reduce ear itching and redness. Leave on the affected area 5-7 minutes and then rinse off with warm water and gentle soap. ...Read more
Fungal?: I wonder if you have a fungal infection of the skin inside your ear, called Otomycosis. The other option would be more like an eczema of the ear canal but this would not often be moist. I would suggest you have your doctor take a look at it as it is difficult to diagnose without looking in your ear and that way he/she can properly treat you as well. Best wishes. ...Read more

I have chronic itchy ears. What can I do to stop them from itching so much instead of using q tips.
It would probably be best to find out why you have so much itching and address that problem. Most likely, you have an allergy that manifests as itching in your ears. If that's the cause, an antihistamine such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Zyrtec (or others) should help.
If not, see an ENT doctor to make sure there's nothing there of greater concern.
And you are right. Don't use q-tips in your ears. ...Read more

Dry or infected: If you get water into your ear canals often, you may end up with a fungal infection which often causes itching as well. My ears aren't producing any wax and are constantly itchy- sometimes not so bad but other times I can barely concentrate on anything else! What is it?
Hard to say.: If you use Q-tips stop them. Avoid all fragrances and aerosols in environment, because they are skin & respiratory tract irritants (and add to the environmental allergy burden). If an antihistamine helps, then an allergy of some sort is the problem & keep a diary to see if something you are eating, or using is the problem, inc. supplements and over the counter meds. See a doc if this doesn't help ...Read more
At night my face and ears get really red and hot to the touch. Never happens during the day and is always gone in the morning. Not bumpy or itchy. What is this?
Overheated: If your room is too warm, your body temperature may be driven up without the regulatory mechanism of vasodilation, which often occurs at the cheeks and ears, allowing heat to be emitted out of the body, thereby keeping your internal body temperature normal. As the night progresses and you move into a restful sleep, the body temperature falls, so the blood vessels would no longer be dilated. ...Read more
