Stop the cream.: First of all, betaderm (which contains betamethasone) is a strong steroid cream that should not be used on the face. Stop using it. Your pimply rash could be due to the cream itself. If it was there before you started applying betaderm, the most common causes are adult acne and rosacea, both easily treatable by a dermatologist, once he or she makes a precise diagnosis.

Dermatitis: It depends on what is really going on and should be seen by a doctor. It could be contact dermatitis, allergic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, Lupus, Rosacea, and other etiologies. Each condition would be approached a little different in regards to work-up and treatment.

Should see doctor: There are many different causes for red itchy rashes in children. Eczema is a possibility, but it usually appears in the folds of the arms and legs. I would suggest that he be seen by his pediatrician. Ointments are greasy feeling and tend to stay on the surface of the skin, while creams and lotions are more water-based and rub into the skin without leaving a residue.

Possible fungal..: This might be associated with a fungal infection although other possibilities should be considered as well. For the moment since you are unable to be seen by a doctor, you may get over the counter clotrimazole and apply it for a few days. If not better you should make the best effort, if possible, to get checked for a definite diagnosis.

Hand eczema: There is every possibility this is a small site of hand eczema. We see this very often and people in your occupation because recurrent contact with water and soaps and detergents and so forth. I believe you should see a dermatologist to get the right advice on treatment to dry skin and treatment of hand eczema and you will get a cream that should help and be given and care instructions.

See a physician: You are describing something like allergic dermatitis (eczema) or possible infectious lesions, someone needs to look at the lesions in order to make a diagnosis and treatment can be given. You can do that by visiting your local physician or request inbox consultation on healthtap

Have a raised bump that looks like a mosquito bite. It's skin coloured and raised, surrounded by red skin. It's very itchy. Can it be a flea bite?

That is possible: But hard to diagnose without more info and an exam of the lesion. If you get more, see a doctor. If it goes away or you find critters on your pet, spray spray spray.

R/O ALLERGIC RX: ALLERGIC RX/ Eczema /Allergic dermatitis is especially prevalent in these areas of the body. It responds to topical & oral steroids with flare. I also add in ZYRTEC&ZANTAC to block both histamine receptors. If SX. Persist or worsen get Derm consult

Why do I get itchy, blotchy red skin in response to chill, like when stepping out of a swimming pool into a breeze- sign of compromised immune system?

Why do I get itchy, blotchy red skin in response to chill, like when stepping out of a swimming pool into a breeze- sign of compromised immune system?

Cold Urticaria: Cold induced urticaria occurs whenever the skin is chilled, by cold air or cold water, or by direct contact with cold items like ice or a cold drink can. It is not a sign of immunocompromise.

On my right knuckle, I have a very dry, red skin and it's itchy and rough, what could it be? I also have it on my left knuckle but it is not as bad

Could be many: Things including but not limited to lichen simplex chronicus. Try covering it with a bandaid every day after putting on some aquaphor, if it gets better, then continue but if not it needs to be seen by dermatologist

I have some very tiny red/skin color bumps on the side of my middle finger for the past 3 weeks. They are not itchy and they hurt very little?

Get a diagnosis: There are many types and causes of skin rashes. Several types of inflammatory conditions of the skin, allergic reactions, and sometimes bacterial, viral or fungal infections can cause rashes on the skin. Insect bites can also be the cause of a rash on the skin. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

Accidently picked at a brown mole now it is red mole and hurts and red skin round mole, not itchy or no pus can't get to see a doctor for 6 weeks

Accidently picked at a brown mole now it is red mole and hurts and red skin round mole, not itchy or no pus can't get to see a doctor for 6 weeks

Why 6 weeks?: Was it a seborrheic keratosis? By the time you see a Dr in 6 weeks it will no longer be red or tender. When you go, let's hope the Dr can identify it precisely. If not, a biopsy will settle it. Not urgent.

Intertrigo: Intertrigo is a very common inflammatory condition affecting areas of skin that are characteristically in contact with each other, such as the groin, armpits, under the breasts, and skin folds. These areas of skin that are in contact with each other are referred to as the intertriginous zones. Try prescription zvytone Cream or Dermazene. Nails are another condition.

I've got stinging burning itchy red skin on my joint areas for 2 days now?? I have no allergies and it just started randomly. Any ideas what's wrong?

I've got stinging burning itchy red skin on my joint areas for 2 days now?? I have no allergies and it just started randomly. Any ideas what's wrong?

Which joint areas: Are you referring to? And are the burning itchy red skin areas associated with prolonged sunlight exposure? Or have they been through friction or some rubbing action recently? Any medications or new substances that you may have ingested within the last 2-3 days? These are clues to help figure out the problem. Otherwise you would need direct hands-on examination for diagnosis.
