Not fine: Your gums were not "fine" before the procedure, just asymptomatic. You needed the deep cleaning, which is a surgical procedure, because you had gum disease. You are now healing from that surgery. If you have concerns, return to the treating General Dentist or Specialist Periodontist who did the surgical procedure for a reevaluation. ...Read more

Unrelated: Gingivitis is inflammation in the gum caused by dental related bacteria. Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) will decrease bacteria but nothing can completely reverse gingivitis except good oral hygiene, so floss and brush and if you had a good cleaning it should go away. ...Read more
