When i eat vegetables, fruits , milk, legumes and red meat.I get itchy flaky scalp and hair loss just after 30 my allergy test is negative. What cause it?
Makes no sense: I'd greatly doubt that these events are related. You may be better off getting patch testing for a contact allergy then to foods , airborne allergens etc. Consult a dermatologist. ...Read more

Very itchy scalp, flaking, red spots from scratching, feels like crawling on head(and body a little). Just started yesterday.
Start with shampoos: If you have a lot of scale and flaking in your scalp, try using t/gel or Nizoral (ketoconazole) shampoo to stop the itching. You may need treatment with a topical corticosteroid by prescription. Call my office at 310-545-2900 in manhattan beach if you would like an evaluation. ...Read more
I've had itchy flaky scalp since i was child. When itched, it causes pain/headaches and i can't ever go two days without it itching again.
Seborrheic: Sounds like it could be seborrheic dermatitis, a common condition of the scalp as you describe. Selenium sulfide shampoos over the counter are effective but if that does not help prescriptions such as ketoconazole 2% shampoo, fluocinolone .01% or ciclopirox 1% shampoos are very effective as well. See your doctor for those. Best wishes. ...Read more

Which third generation antihistamine is best for itchy flaky scalp and skin levocetirizine , desloratadine or fexofenadine ?
None of them!: Good morning, itchy scalp is due to irritation to the nerves of skin of the scalp. There is a nerve signal going from the scalp to the brain telling that there is something not right on the scalp. Correcting the local condition of the scalp such as dryness, scaling, seborrhea, bacterial or fungal overgrowth, and skin flaking condition will relieve the itch. Antihistamines are not useful for this. ...Read more

I have an itchy, flaky scalp. I have tried using organic shampoos and medicated peanut oil my dermatologist recommended but nothing works.Wash 3x week
The most common: cause of an itchy, flaky scalp is dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis. It can also be caused by eczema or psoriasis. Other medicated shampoos can be effective: salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, selenium, ketoconazole containing shampoos. Many try alternating between them. It would be fine to try some of these on your own and/or return to your Dermatologist for more suggestions. Good wishes:) ...Read more

Itchy scratchy: The itching and flaking of your scalp may be unrelated to foods. You may have seborrheic dermatitis or even a genetic condition of atopy. I think I have seborrheic dermatitis i can't eat only chicken and wheat with reat of all foods i get itchy flaky scalp and dry hands how to treat ?
See a dermatologist: Itching and flaking scalp can be caused by a lot of things. Certain food sensitivities can contribute to these symptoms, but so can many other things including medications, stress, psoriasis, eczema, and seborrheic dermatitis (among many causes). I would see a dermatologist or allergist to see about helping you find the cause and a solution and how to control the symptoms. Good luck to you. ...Read more
Hi when i eat spinach or some green veggies i get itchy flaky scalp with hair loss my allergy test with all foods was negative please explain thx ..
Eczema vs food allergy: Itchy food reactions in the skin (scalp here) can be due to T cell immune responses, and not all of those involve production of antibodies. Atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis are plenty itchy and may produce positive patch tests for delayed hypersensitivity when immediate hypersensitivity tests are negative ( no IgE). If you itch less by avoiding those foods, that's the action to take. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

May it be seborrhea?: One's primary care doctor can check for medical causes. If none are found, then one can see a dermatologist, especially one specializing in hair restoration (some treatments: minoxidil, finasteride, hair transplants, ...). Medical causes may include: hormonal problems (low thyroid), seborrhea, alopecia areata, stressful illness. Other causes: genetic male/female pattern baldness, telogen effluvium. ...Read more
My prick & blood rast test for all foods was negative but when i eat any food except whole wheat i get very itchy flaky scalp and excessive hair loss.
Unusual: It is highly unlikely that you would be allergic or intolerant to all foods other than whole wheat. Recommend that you consult an allergist to consider doing some food challenges to see if you are indeed allergic to intolerant to the foods you implicated. I don't want you to get in a nutritional bind. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp & ears. I've also been having issues with dry, flaky, peeling, itchy, irritated, sometimes red and burning skin in butt crack.
Seb derm areas: Seborrheic dermatitis can affect the scalp, face, chest, back, underarms, groin and lower abdomen, and the fold between the buttocks. Psoriasis can do the same thing. In mild cases of both treatments are similar. Care must be taken not to use steroid creams in body folds for prolonged periods of time as they can thin the skin and cause other damage. ...Read more
Itchy flaky scalp and excessive hair loss after eating foods except ( whole wheat ) and the food allergies test (prick & rast ) was negative . Why ?
Alopecia and allergy: It is unlikely that food allergy has anything to do with hair loss. Plus both prick and blood test for food are negative so you are unlikely to have ige mediated food allergy. Many things may cause hair loss including androgenic (male pattern) baldness, fungal infection, autoimmune disease like lupus, thyroid/pituitary dysfunction, iron-deficiency anemia...
