Had a large blister on the bottom of my foot and popped it. It now has a red ring around it, the skin is really hard. It is itchy. Is it infected?
Possible: It's possibly infected with fungus or yeast. It's probably not a bacterial infection from your description. Hope that helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have redness and an itchy feeling between my little toe. It also smells bad. But i shower every day. Sometimes twice a day. What could this be ?
Yeast or Fungus: Although white and itching between toes is more consistent with a yeast, you have reddness and itchy, therefore it may be fungual. In either case, apply iodine to dry the area and provide a hostile environment for either. Washing good. Without improvment over 10 days, see local podiatrist who may also have to rule out a soft "corn, ". This usual doesn't itch, but hurts. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Infection: Any place where skin folds, minor crevices are etc are places where bacteria and dirt can accumulate. "inny" belly buttons are very common for dirt, lint etc to gather and sweating can make matters worse, often causing a fungal infection to occur, which can smell. Keep the area as clean and dry as you can. If persisits, see the dr. And get properly diagnosed and treated. Good luck. ...Read more

It is time for a Dr.: In a person who is "shakey", and has something in the shape of a large butterfly at the front of her neck... maybe the neck thing is not so much a rash but rather an enlarged thyroid gland... possibly with inflammation and putting out too much thyroid hormone. It is time to see one's primary care doctor, who may refer to an endocrinologist if indeed the thyroid gland is sick. ...Read more

Had impetigo and used mupirocin2% three weeks ago. Left with redness and lower lip is itchy but no signs of blisters. Is it back?
Maybe not: If the redness is a little less (improving) each day, it may be "post-inflammatory" redness that gradually goes away after the impetigo heals. If crusting or oozing returns, then the doctor can look to see if the infection has returned. Many people get blisters on a lip that are cold sores, instead of impetigo. Cold sores are caused by viruses (mupirocin doesn't work on those viruses). ...Read more
