Itchy Rash Spreading
Extremely itchy rash.spreading down back and now middle of chest. Dermatologist biopsy shows sbk.ointment does not help.No fungus from scrape sample.
Sbk?: I believe that sbk refers to the type of needle used in the biopsy, not to the biopsy-aided diagnosis. I may be wrong, but I am right about this: if the treatment that your dermatologist isn't working within the expected time frame, you need to follow up, if only with a phone call. Please contact your doctor. I hope all goes well. ...Read more

I have a 6 inch high by 4 inch wide non-itchy rash evenly spread along the base of the spine. What could the be?

Miconazole cream though is the antifungal, it's OTC, needs at least 2 weeks of application, but you ultimately want to see your doctor, it might not be ring worm to start with, also if you have a pet at home, it needs to be taken care of, wish you all wellness. ...Read more
Have an itchy rash that's spreading. Tried cortizone (hydrocortisone) and didn't work. Now trying olux-e and its not working either. What should I use to get rid of it?
Depends: If the rash is fungal, you need to use an anti fungal cream. There are some otc preparations. However, if it allergic Benadryl (diphenhydramine) orally or topically can work. Additionally the steroid cream you used may just not be strong enough. Lastly, the rash could be coming from something internal. See your physician or a dermatologist for evaluation. ...Read more

Unlikely chickenpox: A rash with fluid filled blisters is suggestive of chickenpox, but the distribution is atypical. Chickenpox usually starts with lesions on the abdomen and then spreads up and out and includes the entire body. Lesions that are limited to hands and ankles along with a sore mouth or throat are more consistent with a Coxsackie virus, often called hand foot mouth virus. An exam would confirm. ...Read more
