What was the trigger: Assuming that you have no systemic symptoms like fever, headache etc, you apparently have an allergic reaction to something that you applied recently to your skin in the affected area. Needs to be checked: The rash needs to be checked.It may be some kind of Contact Dermatitis or an allergic rash. But we can not say with certainty what it may be.You can try using over the counter Hydrocortisone cream and over the counter Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for itching and consult your Doctor or a Dermatologist asap to confirm the diagnosis and treatment with local cream and if indicated short course of oral steroids ...Read more

Non-itchy rash: Many possibilities: might be sensitivity to bath soap, laundry detergent, fabric softener, dyes/ chemicals in new (unwashed) shirt, cologne or body spray; if u sweat a lot, might be prickly heat; might be viral infection like measles/ rubella. Cool compresses & oral antihistamine (claritin/zyrtec/benadryl) may help. See doc for close exam of rash for more exact possibilities. ...Read more
