There are lots...: ...Of possibilities, but this time of year it is most likely to be an allergic response to something that came in contact with your arms, such as poison ivy, particularly if you've been working in the garden or camping or clearing weeds. Over-the-counter creams are too weak for such rashes, so let a dermatologist give you a precise diagnosis and treatment. Could we see the photos?

Pregnancy (Definition)

When your due date arrives, you will be more than ready to have your baby! Most women deliver the baby somewhere between 37 and 42 weeks. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, only 5% of babies arrive on the exact due date. Approximately 7% of babies are not delivered by 42 weeks, and when that happens, it is referred to ...Read more

Itchy White Spots: This sounds like something known as dyshidrotic eczema, but without a picture or more description of the rash, it's hard to know. Would check with a dermatologist.

Had fever for 24 hr last Fri. Rash on arms/legs/feet Tuesday. Legs/feet have itchy rash still. Headaches all week bad today. Meningitis?

Other symptoms.?: The symptoms you have described could be due to many different illnesses. In my experience, patients with meningitis most commonly present with high fever, neck stiffness, severe headaches, nausea and vomiting. There are some serious forms of meningitis associated with rashes. However, they will be associated with equally serious symptoms as listed above. If you are unsure, see your doctor right away

Pregnancy rash: There is a plaque like strange-looking rash associated with pregnancy. It is usually treated with a short course of oral cortisone. However it is always a good idea to check with your doctor.

Drug Eruption: Drug eruptions can mimic a wide range of dermatoses. The morphologies are myriad and include morbilliform, urticarial, papulosquamous, pustular, and bullous. Medications can also cause pruritus and dysesthesia without an obvious eruption. A drug-induced reaction should be considered in any patient who is taking medications and who suddenly develops a symmetric cutaneous eruption.

3yr old Raised itchy rash over back of neck arms and legs only. No fever. Just recovered from general virus. What could it be? Exclude from kindy?

Mgt: From your description there may be an allergic reaction. I would advise letting your PCP know and a dose of over the counter children's anti histamine such as Claritin (loratadine) may be used. It may be related to the virus or an allergic trigger. Your PCP will obtain a history including whether there were new foods, medications, lotions etc.

Too little info: Most skin rashes need to be examined in order to offer meaningful insight. In the case of a reaction, a discussion about potential exposures is also necessary.

My granddaughter (16 mo) diagnosed roseola or fifths. I have an itchy rash on arms and neck and had fever blister. Any connection?

No connection: Human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) is the most frequent cause of roseola.? Roseola classically begins with three to five days of fever that may exceed 40ºC (104ºF); as the fever abates, a blanching macular or maculopapular rash develops, starting on the neck and trunk and spreads to the face and extremities. It is self limited and benign. I do not believe your symptoms are caused by Roseola!

? dry skin: As it is affecting the more exposed areas, however, if symptoms are really bothersome you may want to see a dermatologist, meanwhile, try some skin care techniques: as bathing with cream soap, moisturize your skin right after, hydrate you body well, and avoid prolonged sun exposure, occasional antihistamine might help too, good luck

Use steroid cream: It seems you have an acute case of contact dermatitis and may need to see your doctor asap as it is spreading meanwhile take over the counter Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to control the itching and use 1%hydrocortisone cream locally till you see your doctor you may need stronger steroid cream and/or oral or injecteble steroids.
