Hard to tell: This may be from a contact allergy to hair preparations used. Suggest you try a hydrocortisone cream (as long as the fluid from the oozing is clear). In the meanwhile, switch to Free and Clear shampoo. If problem persists, see dermatologist. ...Read more

Perioral dermatitis: Perioral dermatitis vs Ezcema. Excema would be treated with moisturizer and topical steroids, for perioral dermatitis, these are not helpful and would worsen the condition. Sounds most like perioral dermatitis. Things to try: reduce products, they clog and worsen the condition. Regularly cleanse. Try to touch your face less often. If no better, see a Dermatologist, or a doctor with expertise. ...Read more

Dry skin: Like the rest of the body surface, the skin in the ear canals can get dry, crusty and intensely itchy. I often recommend putting a drop of vegetable oil into the canals about 2x/wk to moisturize the skin. I agree that an infection may also be possible but it would not respond to the application of oil in the ear canals. ...Read more
