Itchy Palms In The Morning
Is it possible to get cholestasis at 15 weeks? Last night my palms were itchy, this morning a little better, and now my palms are ok but my legs itch!
14 year old very active boy woke up thursday morning with red blotches palms and some on feet. What could this be? It is not itchy or painful.
Skin infection: When there are red and raised areas on the palms and soles it could be a fungal infection that started with the feet that spread to the hands from touching the feet. I been waking up with itchy palms and soles both with flat pink blotches its been on and off for 6 months and lasts about an hour.
Need evaluation: You definitely needs to see your gp for more eval. Try to go there when you have the pink blotches. Do you have them in any other location besides palms and soles? Certain things like allergy/urticaria; exposure to something affecting your palms/soles, etc- including secondary syphillis should be considered. In addition to the: Oral antihistamines (Benadryl) at night and topical 1% hydrocortisone cream, you can also try Aquaphor (more of an ointment) and if she'll keep them on, cotton gloves over that. Possible allergy: Itching of the palms and soles may be some sort of allergic reaction to something internal or external. Take notice to see when it happens. Contact dermatitis: Most itchy bumps/spots of the palms are due to a contact dermatitis, or irritation from some exposure in our day-to-day world. This includes anything from lotions to our clothes to our tools at work. If these are new I would think about new exposures you might have had.
