This is in all: liklihood hand dermatitis or eczema. People can be genetically susceptible, or be in frequent contact with an irritant, or have allergies. Irritants include water, detergents, solvents, cold, heat, friction. Dermatologist can pinpoint cause. Then minimize contact with irritants, use non-soap cleanser, minimize water/dry well, use moisturizers, possibly cotton gloves and topical steroids. Good luck ...Read more

Ck your post op meds: If you have palmer rash from post-op, and were placed on antibiotics, or other meds, you must consider if this could be a possibility or not. In either case, contact your foot doctor, or surgeon, and let her/him know about it, so they can advise you further. This is best done in person.
