What happened first?: What happened before the lumps appeared? Were you stung/bitten by an insect? Had you rubbed against some plants/weeds? We need more information to provide the best answer. Possibly using topical Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or taking zyrtec/benadryl/claritin by mouth will resolve issue, but fp should see lumps & get complete history. ...Read more

Itchy small blisters in the back of my left knee ,from 4 days. is it serious ?

Contact dermatitis?: Do you have poison ivy in your area? Did you come in contact with plastic, metal, or chemicals in that area of your leg? It sounds like your skin may be reacting to something it came in contact with. If it is painful, or has a cloudy pus-like discharge, or you have fever, get seen to rule out infections. Otherwise, wash it well and try hydrocortisone cream 2x/day. ...Read more

If fracture included cartilage on back of the patella, tibial plateau, distal head of femur &/or a meniscus tear, & excellent repair/healing were not achieved, then continued pain certainly possible/likely. Possible help/solution could be nutrasense glucosamine+chondroitin 2xs/day for months & exercise training with an excellent physical therapist. Else md. ...Read more

I received a blow to the inside of my left knee a couple months ago and it's still somewhat painful, thoughts?

Is it getting worse?: An injury to the knee most likely causes bruising of the tissues, which gets better in about 3-4 weeks; traumatic synovitis from the injury occurs and can take upto 3 months to completely resolve. If its not getting worse, but has improved then just hang in there as I am sure it'll subside completely; if not then check with your orthopod and get properly diagnosed and treated. Good luck! ...Read more
