Fungal?: I wonder if you have a fungal infection of the skin inside your ear, called Otomycosis. The other option would be more like an eczema of the ear canal but this would not often be moist. Itch not to scratch.: Some itches shouldn't be scratched. Please don't stick anything in your ear! you do not want to damage your ear drum. You can have your doctor look in your ear to make sure that the external canal is free of debris and wax. If that is clear and you still have the problem, you may be suffering from allergies. Doctor can check: you could be having simple allergic reaction a heat pad on the ear and take Benadryl (diphenhydramine) from over the counter there is special ear drop but it required a Rx from a doctor no improvement see your doctor he can make the right diagnosis and help you with the right treatment ...Read more

Otitis externa is a: likely diagnosis with a story like that. Otitis can become quite serious relatively quickly. See your primary MD or urgent clinic for evaluation. See your doctor: Its impossible for us to tell what's going on without a physical exam. I'd see your doctor to have a look. Amongst other things - it could be an otic infection, impaction or foreign body which has become lodged in there. I'd suggest not using the Q-Tips as this might only exacerbate any problem.
