I have an ear ache, clogged and itchy ear, headache and a small lump behind and below my ear that is soft, tender. Inner Ear Infection?
There are three different types of ear infections that affect different areas of the ear. Outer ear infection (Otitis externa) affects the ear canal and the outside part of the ear. Middle ear infection (Otitis media) affects the middle ear and leads to fluid accumulation behind the ear drum. Inner ear infection (Otitis interna) is a less common inflammation of the inner ear that causes vertigo, ...Read more
What to do if I have recently had an ear infection and now I have lost my hearing in that ear and its itchy?
See a specialist: A ear infection may clear up but leave you with fluid in your middle ear that might take up to a month to clear, leaving you with decreased hearing. You may also have skin and wax debris in your ear from the infection, or, rarely, a nerve disorder which should be treated quickly by a specialist. ...Read more

How do I know if I have an ear infection if my ear feels clogged and itchy but doesn't hurt and is there a cure?
Left ear not producing any wax. Recently had an ear infection in my left ear and now my left ear is itchy and not producing any wax. Right ear is fine?
External otitis: Many of us would term this chronic external otitis. It's basically a condition of the skin of your ear canal. It is frequently caused by cleaning the ears too much, usually with a q tip. I frequently treat this with a steroid cream, used two or three nights a week. See an ENT to have the ear checked out and make recommendations. ...Read more
Hi woke today with sores on my ear lobe, red not itchy and going scabby? Did have ear infection 3 weeks ago but this is other side
Do I have an ear infection? I get irritation, itchiness and a feeling of blockness. I also get discomfort listening to headphones in short periods.
Q-tip usage?: The most common cause of itchiness of the ear canal is dryness. Compulsive cleaning of the ear canals with q-tips is the most common cause of dryness of the ear canals. It is a misconception that the ears must be cleaned. Cerumen or wax is normal and has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Wax always migrates from deep in the canal to the opening of ear canal. Don't push the wax back. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I had my ear irrigated, then the ear canal became itchy, then I got a middle ear infection, now the infection has gone its itchy again? What will help
Tincture of time: And try not to submit to scratching the itch too much. This is likely self limited. Ask your doctor if there is some type of moisturizing or anti-itch cream you could put on (very small amounts) but I would not recommend applying it with anything like a q-tip or anything. Remember, nothing should go in your ear except your elbow! Lol! Hear! Hear! ...Read more
I have a raised bump on the inside of my arm in my elbow crease. It is itchy, has no rash. I have had an ear infection 3 weeks ago could this be an inflamed epitrochlear node? Should I be worried?
Difficult to know: This is the location for the epitrochlear lymph nodes, but this could just as easily be an epidermal inclusion cyst (sebaceous cyst) or a lipoma (fatty tumor) or something more serious. I would suggest you have it evaluated if you are concerned. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
I get outer ear infections all the time. Ent said it was no big deal. What could cause constant outer ear infections. Ears are always itchy.
Inside my left ear has been itchy and so has the left side of my throat I tried cleaning it with a qtip but it still itching is it a ear infection?
No: The worst thing you can do is clean out your ear canal with a q-tip. You will only succeed in pushing the wax (if it exists) in further toward the ear drum. Itching in the ear canal is usually the symptom of dryness. Use 4 drops of mineral oil in your left ear and put a small piece of cotton batten in ear opening for 5 minutes 3 to 4 times a day and only for the itching. Stop using q-tips. ...Read more
Do I have a ear infection? Itchy ears, popping ears from blowing my nose too much. I also have a runny/stuffy nose (itchy nose). What can it be? No other symptoms.
NO ear infection: This appears to be fluid flilled middle as you blow too hard. The allergic synptoms may cause the eustachian tube to close up and when you blow so hard you can cause fluid to back up into the middle ear.. Get some kind of allergy med or decongestant from your doc and blow easily. Time is the best med here. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

What are some home remedies for an ear infection, I believe I have one, my ear is plugged and I have itchy eye and a runny nose.?
Pain?: We often get fluid behind our eardrums when we get a cold or have bad allergies. This doesn't always mean the fluid is infected. If you have not pain and it just feels plugged, then it is likely fluid that will go away and doesn't need treatment. If you have a lot of pain and fever, then it may be infected. If you often have itchy eyes and runny nose, you might seek allergy treatment. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
