Itchy Blisters Around Steri Strips
I am 6 weeks post-op from TAH. Removed all 11 steri strips a few days ago and now have super itchy and red rash in the shape of steri strips...HELP!?
Too long: The steri strips probably should have been removed 5 weeks ago. Usually those are left on for less than a week. The area is probably very dirty and needs cleaning. You skin is probably very irritated from prolonged exposure to the adhesive. After washing some over the counter Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream should calm the tissue inflammation. ...Read more
Got steri strips put on after getting my stitches out and the doc knew i'm allergic to adhesive. It's beginning to get very itchy. Plz help?
I have a reaction to steri strips for my Achilles rupture surgery 2 weeks ago. What can I put on the hives? Itchy and painful, don't want to scratch.
See your surgeon: Achilles' tendon repair incisions can be 'tricky' as the tendon is nearly subcutaneous. Any non- healing wounds here or incisional 'rashes' should be seen by your surgeon promptly to avoid skin/ wound breakdown. In my experience the reaction to the steri-strips is usually a reaction to the benzoin used to keep the strips' sticky'and not the strips themselves. See your surgeon! Best of Luck! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I had an allergic reaction from steri strips after my port for chemo was put in. Strips are removed, but there are still blisters. What should I do?
Steristrip blisters: The blisters on your skin are a protective reaction of your body to the foreign substance encountered and are helping to prevent further injury to irritated tissue beneath them. Please protect the area from further irritation but nothing further is needed for now as the reaction seems localized to just the area affected by the steristrips. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I have a cluster of blister-like sores on my finger. They have dark dots in the center. They're not itchy. What are they?
Okay I have these red itchy blister looking things in my pubic area. They are not painful but they really itch. They are in clusters.
At first it was just a sunburn but now painful and itchy blisters have developed all over my face. Should I worry ? Are there and medicines to take?
Get it evaluated: If you have used any products on the face to treat the sunburn, you may have a reaction to them. You also may have given yourself a second degree sunburn. You need to take caution to prevent such severe sunburns in the future as it dramatically increases your risk of skin cancer. There may be some treatment options to help your recovery but you need to be seen first. ...Read more

Shingles: The best way to diagnosis a rash is to actually see the rash and/or feel it, so it is difficult to provide information based on this question. The rash of shingles usually starts as a red itchy (often painful) area, and then develops blisters. Shingles rash usually occurs on only one side of the body, and stops abruptly at the spine when it is on the back. ...Read more

I have shingles and have had it for four days and it still jhasn't blistered or erupted---just itchy and painful Will it go away faster or not blister?
Shingles treatment: Assuming the diagnosis is correct, you should be on treatment, e.g. valacyclovir, which will speed healing. Even mild cases normally should be treated; a mild start can still go on to a fairly severe or prolonged course. With treatment, it should stop getting worse in a day or two and begin improving a couple days later. If not on treatment, contact your doctor ASAP. Good luck! ...Read more
ALmost all of them: With injury to our skin, inflammation occurs which means the area becomes red, warm, tender and with swelling. Swelling occurs under the skin layers and causes them to bulge creating a protective fluid cushion called a blister. As the area heals, the fluid will be resorbed or when no longer needed, the blister opens and it drains. This should take about a week. Keep it covered and protected. ...Read more
