Itchy Blisters Around Steri Strips
I am 6 weeks post-op from TAH. Removed all 11 steri strips a few days ago and now have super itchy and red rash in the shape of steri strips...HELP!?
Too long: The steri strips probably should have been removed 5 weeks ago. Usually those are left on for less than a week. The area is probably very dirty and needs cleaning. You skin is probably very irritated from prolonged exposure to the adhesive. After washing some over the counter Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream should calm the tissue inflammation.
Got steri strips put on after getting my stitches out and the doc knew I'm allergic to adhesive. It's beginning to get very itchy. Plz help?
Skin Allergy: If the stitches were taken out timely, most of the time steri strips are not needed unless there is wound gaping. Anyways, as it is very itchy, call your doctor and ask. S/he may advise you to take them off. By the time, take some anti itch med.See 1 more doctor answer
I have a reaction to steri strips for my Achilles rupture surgery 2 weeks ago. What can I put on the hives? Itchy and painful, don't want to scratch.
See your surgeon: Achilles' tendon repair incisions can be 'tricky' as the tendon is nearly subcutaneous. Any non- healing wounds here or incisional 'rashes' should be seen by your surgeon promptly to avoid skin/ wound breakdown. In my experience the reaction to the steri-strips is usually a reaction to the benzoin used to keep the strips' sticky'and not the strips themselves. See your surgeon! Best of Luck!See 1 more doctor answer
I had an allergic reaction from steri strips after my port for chemo was put in. Strips are removed, but there are still blisters. What should I do?
Steristrip blisters: The blisters on your skin are a protective reaction of your body to the foreign substance encountered and are helping to prevent further injury to irritated tissue beneath them. Please protect the area from further irritation but nothing further is needed for now as the reaction seems localized to just the area affected by the steristrips.See 1 more doctor answer
On 1/10 allergic reaction to steri-strips, steroid cream 2x day. Is it safe if skin blisters clear soon to have surgery again on same leg in 3 weeks?
Yes: But tell surgeon not to use adhesive tape or strip if possible.
Blistering rash: Blisters with redness and itch can signify a contact dermatitis such as poison ivy or oak or sumac if indeed you have had exposure to weeds or vines outdoors. I would suggest white vinegar soaks and apply Hydrocortisone cream 2-3x/day. If the condition worsens, please see a dermatologist.See 1 more doctor answer

Need exam: There are many possible causes. Perhaps a doctor can help you.
I have a cluster of blister-like sores on my finger. They have dark dots in the center. They're not itchy. What are they?
Tiny blisters finger: Tiny blisters (1mm or smaller) on the fingers can be a sign of dyshidrotic eczema. This may be caused from sweat glands that get blocked. A prescription strong topical steroid often helps. Irritation or rubbing can initiate a flare.
Okay I have these red itchy blister looking things in my pubic area. They are not painful but they really itch. They are in clusters.
At first it was just a sunburn but now painful and itchy blisters have developed all over my face. Should I worry? Are there and medicines to take?
Get it evaluated: If you have used any products on the face to treat the sunburn, you may have a reaction to them. You also may have given yourself a second degree sunburn. You need to take caution to prevent such severe sunburns in the future as it dramatically increases your risk of skin cancer. There may be some treatment options to help your recovery but you need to be seen first.
Red itchy area showed up on lower back out of no where Wed. Thurs it grew larger & bumpy; Fri. Tons of tiny blisters formed. Super itchy & sensitive?
Shingles: The best way to diagnosis a rash is to actually see the rash and/or feel it, so it is difficult to provide information based on this question. The rash of shingles usually starts as a red itchy (often painful) area, and then develops blisters. Shingles rash usually occurs on only one side of the body, and stops abruptly at the spine when it is on the back.
My partner & I get 1 small red itchy dot that forms into a cluster of blisters on random parts of our body at least once a month. Our docs are clueles?
I have shingles and have had it for four days and it still jhasn't blistered or erupted---just itchy and painful Will it go away faster or not blister?
Shingles treatment: Assuming the diagnosis is correct, you should be on treatment, e.g. valacyclovir, which will speed healing. Even mild cases normally should be treated; a mild start can still go on to a fairly severe or prolonged course. With treatment, it should stop getting worse in a day or two and begin improving a couple days later. If not on treatment, contact your doctor ASAP. Good luck!
ALmost all of them: With injury to our skin, inflammation occurs which means the area becomes red, warm, tender and with swelling. Swelling occurs under the skin layers and causes them to bulge creating a protective fluid cushion called a blister. As the area heals, the fluid will be resorbed or when no longer needed, the blister opens and it drains. This should take about a week. Keep it covered and protected.
Exam need: You will need an exam to get an accurate DX. Could be anal fissure, hemorrhoids, or other conditions.
