Itchy Blisters Around Steri Strips
I am 6 weeks post-op from TAH. Removed all 11 steri strips a few days ago and now have super itchy and red rash in the shape of steri strips...HELP!?
Too long: The steri strips probably should have been removed 5 weeks ago. Usually those are left on for less than a week. The area is probably very dirty and needs cleaning. I have a reaction to steri strips for my Achilles rupture surgery 2 weeks ago. What can I put on the hives? Itchy and painful, don't want to scratch.
See your surgeon: Achilles' tendon repair incisions can be 'tricky' as the tendon is nearly subcutaneous. Any non- healing wounds here or incisional 'rashes' should be seen by your surgeon promptly to avoid skin/ wound breakdown. In my experience the reaction to the steri-strips is usually a reaction to the benzoin used to keep the strips' sticky'and not the strips themselves. Sometimes rashes occur from bug bites, fungus/yeast, reactions with chemicals, irritants, plants, allergens, etc... Itching makes it more likely an allergic rash or bug bites. If one cannot go to the doctor, a video consult on HealthTap PRIME may help. ...Read more
I have blisters on my clitoris. It hurts and is itchy. Very little clear liquid on it. What is it. ?
Skin underneath a ring was red, itchy. Last week or so it became blistering, painful, peeling. Getting worse. What could it be?
Dermatitis: Rashes under rings can be due to metal allergy (contact dermatitis), or an irritant effect from soaps trapped under the ring if not removed when doing dishes without gloves. Both causes can get secondarily infected, with germs, or yeast, giving much redness and tenderness. Remove the ring before dishwashing and get appropriate cream from a dermatologist. ...Read more
