Itchy anus for 2 months. No GI symptoms. 2 stool tests, negative for parasites. On hydrocortisone. Not going away. What can I do?

Caffeine: Is the most common cause of anal itching not hemorrhoids as stated win the ads. Pinworms can be another cause usually in children after playing in the dirt. But cokes, coffe, tea, chocolate, and energy drinks like red bull have lots of caffeine leading to severe itching and bleeding, even waking you from your sleep at night clawing at your bottom. Sure: Most causes of anal itching especially if it is severe enough to wake you from your sleep are due to caffeine and excess moisture. Cut out all caffeine and beer, and keep the area dry with cornstarch powder, not talcum. Occassionaly pin worms can be a cause but usually in children playing in dirt. ...Read more
