Itching can be: related to systemic disease. Liver disease can cause increased bilirubin which can lead to diffuse itching. Dysgeusia (or the metallic taste) can be caused by a lot of things, including medications and different disease processes. Not likely,,,: Polycystic kidney disease is characterized by flank pain, hematuria (blood in urine), urinary tract infection in 30s and 40s, and hypertension. Also cysts in the kidney and liver as well as berry aneurysms in the brain are characteristic.
