Probable allergies: Itchy ears could be caused by wax or eczema. Sometimes there is no obvious reason. Prescribed cortisone drops usually are very effective. Sore throat and congested nose could be caused by viruses, bacterias and allergies. Allergies are very common. Tx try Claritin (loratadine) or allegra, but no decongestant like claritin-d/afrin/allegra-d. Decongestants can elevate blood pressure, cause racing heart/insomnia. ...Read more
Sore and itchy throat, one of my inner ear canal hurting and itching, sneezing, coughing, and watery eyes.
Allergies vs Cold: It sounds like you could have one of two things going on- a cold or allergies. Your symptoms are consistent with seasonal allergies, hitting you all at once, which is no fun. You might try an over the counter med like claritin, (loratadine) zyrtec, or Allegra to see if this helps. You may also need prescription medications to help control your symptoms. If it continues past 1-2 weeks, see your doctor. ...Read more
Cold, allergy, sinus: But which? That is the eternal question. If symptoms have been present less than 1 week & mucous is yellow or green it's almost certainly a cold. Rx: rest, lots of liquids, saline nasal spray, ibuprofen, aspirin, or acetominophen. When symptoms last more than a week it may be allergy or sinusitis. Mucous water, sneezing, itching - that's allergy. Cough, thick mucous, headache likely sinusitis. ...Read more

You should rinse your nose with a saline spray, an otc decongestant spray (oxymetazoline=afrin) for 4-5 days, a lozenge such as cepacol and Acetaminophen (tylenol) or Ibuprofen (advil). Does a cold also cause an itchy nose including sneezing, nasal congestion, cough, sore throat, and body aches?
Allergies: I hate to say it, but itching/sneezing/runny nose, provided you're not sick at the time with a viral infection, is usually the result of environmental or seasonal allergies. Even if you've never had them before, you can actually develop allergies at any age, though don't give up hope as you can lose them too. It's worth checking your environment; any new exposures that could account for this? ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
