Skin lesion: Is the outer border slightly raised & scaly? Does the center look like relatively normal skin? May have ringworm (tinea corporis) a mind skin fungus. Can try otc antifungal cream like Lamisil (or generic terbinafine). Rub in thoroughly, wash hands. Treat for at least a week after lesion has disappeared. Wash clothing/bedding/towels that touched it. If not improved, see doc. Keep area dry. ...Read more

Red skin lesion: Without a picture, it is difficult to say. Is the spot uniform, of]R does it look like a "target?" Is it flat, or raised?
