? Lung nodule: Lung nodules are very common, and can be very stress causing, as certainly you want to be sure it is not a cancerous lesion. In 2005, the Fleishner Society published recomendations for the mangament of certain nodules under a certain size. The attached link has the criteria that should be followed to monitor the area. The GI doctor should explain its significance (i.e., if it correlates with your symptoms or not). "Diffuse" = widespread. "Terminal ileum" = region of small intestine near appendix / large intestine. There are lots: Of questions here. While you don't say, this sounds like a report from an imaging test such as a CT/MRI of the lung. The pleura is a thin membrane that covers the lungs. Thickening results from scarring, infection, tumors, etc. Unfortunately, most NODULAR pleural thickening is the result of cancer. either metastatic from the lung, breast or elsewhere, or mesothelioma.
