Amoxicillin done for sinus infect, now azithromycin, day 20 of sinus infect. Not completely heal, y is it not and could it b something other then sinus infect. I am 23 wks pregnant too. No allergies.

Abx for Strep throat: Zithromax is an excellent alternative for Strep infection in those allergic to penicillin, but it generally takes a little more time to see improvement. Ask the DR: Zithromax is probably safe during pregnancy. But it is a common cause for yeast problems. Unless you have both high fever and significant sinus pain, it will do nothing for sinus congestion. Drainage, with sniffer or oral med ,is the way to relieve sinus symptoms.
