Is Vaseline Bad For Anal
Allergic to many meds. Crohns & only vaseline left to put in anus-fissure, soreness for years. Now vaseline burns me bad (allergy? What can I use inste
See GI doctor: Why hasn't the "anal" prolapse" been corrected? Is the "anal fissure" still present? Have you seen an anorectal surgeon?
Possible but: Not advisable. Vaseline is a petroleum product and I do not recommend the use of these products around the anus.
For anal fissure, can you use vaseline 100% pure petroleum jelly. Any issues. Would it help for fissure or cut.
Won't hurt: Vaseline may help protect an anal fissure from irritation but will not facilitate healing. The most important factor in healing an anal fisssure is decreasing size and straining with bowel movements. Daily still softeners and/or fiber supplementation are important. Nifedipine ointment and Nitroglycerin ointment may also be helpful. These are prescriptions you can discuss with your doctor.
I've had anal fissure for more than2 month now I've been using fiber and water&using vaseline to help the area but this hasn't helped. What should ido?
Surgeon: You need to see a colo-rectal surgeon as you may need more therapy that can be anything from some medicine to a bit of surgery. Hurry up and see one - you will feel better.
What's the most effective treatment to itching and ance in skin of external anal? , what's the effect of vaseline on it?!
Depends on cause: I would encourage you to have an inspection by a physician. Itching could be an allergic reaction, a hygiene issue, hemorrhoids or other GI problem including infection. Vaseline is generally safe as it hydrates the skin and is non-reactive. Consider using wet wipes after having a bowel movement. If you have acne nearby, consider over the counter washes.
I have pinworms. They itch horrendously. I tried taking some laxatives and running Vaseline on my anus. Does garlic help??
Not effective: If the diagnosis hasn't been confirmed, see a doctor and follow her advice. If confirmed, the treatments you mention are ineffective, and garlic won't help either. You need an anti-parasitic drug like albendazole. A single dose is effective. Albendazole is available without prescription in the US, but I don't know about the UK. Ask your chemist. Good luck!
My 2 week old daughter has an anal fissure and torn skin in vaginal area. What can the torn skin come from and can I use vaseline to help it heal?
Red flag: Please take your child in to doc. What you describe is some form of child abuse and it is a huge burden on you to protect your child. Vaseline is a very bad idea for these wounds. Don't panic, just calmly take her in to nearest facility or hospital. Maybe go alone, just you and the baby. No friend this time.See 1 more doctor answer
I had an anal fistula surgery and have a rash there now. Is it better to put Vaseline/linecaine on it at night or let it breath?
I was told to use a lot of lube for anal sexual activity. What lubes should I use? Could I use certain household lubes i.e. Vaseline, olive oil, etc.?
H2O or silicone: Check out http://www. Netdoctor. Co.uk/ate/sexandrelationships/sex/200597.html & http://www. Menshealth. Com/sex-women/anal-sex-guide. Best for insertive partner to use/wear condom to minimize bladder infection risk. Avoid using Vaseline as condom lubricant as former breaks down latter. Is there a pen sized camera or smaller that a doctor can insert into a patient just to quickly examine a bump inside, near the entrance anus? I feel it when I use Vaseline sometimes.
No: A proctoscope can be used for visualization. It is a clear plastic scope used to see the first couple inches into the rectal canal.See 1 more doctor answer
Is it okay to use neosporin on vaginal and anal tears after a yeast infection? I don't have any vaseline, and I'm on holiday.
Neosporin: Allergic reactions: Polymyxin B - neomycin compound may cause the area being treated to become more sensitive. If you experience itching, dry skin, reddening, and swelling of the area being treated or if a lesion or wound is not healing, stop using this medication and contact your doctor. I do not tecommend the product because of a greater chance of an allergic reaction.
Are there any natural remedies for anal fissures that are proven to work? I applied vaseline and stopped nitroglycerin. Aloe vera plant, coconut, etc?
Unproven but helpful: I don't know of any "proven" to work but that does not mean they won't work- there is little research on natural remedies as no one can patent ; profit from them but they often help. Vaseline for lube...: No. The simple answer is no. Not at all. But, there may be more enjoyable products to try out there. Many couples use all kinds of products to enhance their pleasure sexually. Many people use these products to enhance masturbation as well. Just know that most of them are harmless. But, remember lubrication does not prevent pregnancy or stds. It is always fun to experiment with a variety...
Probably bad.: The vaseline only keeps the area moist which would delay healing and it doesn't kill the virus. Abreva is what would work better for cold sore when you first feel the tingle in the lip area. It keeps the area dry to heal faster. Valtrex (valacyclovir) used at initial onset is good systemically, but best combo with abreva. You can also use laser treatment at initial tingling onset also with your dentist.See 1 more doctor answer
