Is it possible to have WBC 0-5 and 90,000-100,000 CFU/ML Enterococcus faecalis in urin? Wouldnt the body have started the fight?
Possible.: Urine does not tell me about whether the body is fighting or not. In fact does not tell me if you are infected or not. Urine samples are difficult to collect and to calibrate. If you have symptoms of a urinary tract infection this lab would support infection and you should be treated. If you do not have symptoms I would suggest waiting and watching might be the best strategy. ...Read more

What is the sptoms of UTI in one year old baby what is the treatment if culture shows e coli urine collected in a container and was send?
Nonspecific: Uti in that age range may present with any combination of: fever, foul urine, poor appetite, stomachache, vomiting, irritability, painful urination or diarrhea --> many things may point toward the uti, or it may just be fever and irritability. Bactrim or a cephalosporin may be a reasonable antibiotic choice, but this may be adjusted based on culture sensitivities or previous antibiotic exposure. ...Read more

If there's VRE entercocci in blood, what's the odds of infection in lungs as cause of this, isn't this bacteria from bowel.
I am informed that e. Coli is a sybiotic organism in our GI tract but what does it give us (our body) and where is it located?
Vaginal culture came back with Streptococcus B (+2 million) what does that mean? Is it infection? Not pregnant, was exp burning and frequent urination
Group B Strep: Lives in the vagina and GI tract. If you had urinary burning symptoms and frequency, it may have been causing a urinary tract infection. (Although 70% of the time it is E. coli that causes UTIs). I always like to correlate the urinalysis with the urinary culture. You have a vaginal culture - which is different. You're not pregnant now so you don't have to worry about the baby with Group B Strep. ...Read more

I have a UTI and the doctor mentioned it was the morganella bacteria. Is this common? I am prone to UTI's. But usually E.coli.
No speical meaning: A large number of bacteria -- usually in the category called Gram negative -- can cause UTI. Almost all originate in the GI tract. E coli is the most common cause overall, but 20+ others collectively cause 20-40% of infections. The likelihood of a less common bacteria rises with increasing episodes and previous antibiotic treatment. Your Morganella probably has no special significance. ...Read more
