Is Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream Used For Hemorrhoids
I used triamcinolone acetonide cream on my chest for really bad hives and now my chest has broken out VERY severely. Did the cream cause it?
No: Allergy to triamcinolone acetonide is rare so there's probably another explanation. Also this drug may not be very effective here if hives (Urticaria) is truly what you have. Rashes are very difficult to describe. Can you send a photo? There are very good over the counter anthistamines that can help hives. ...Read more

I wouldn't: Triamcinolone is a topical steroid that can have adverse effects on wound healing. I don't understand the second half of your question. Helps with itching: Triamcinolone=steroid is sometime combined with antifungal cream to help with severe itching/irritation (inflammation). Steroid itself does not treat the ringworm. Lamisil, lotrimin, or tinactin (tolnaftate) are available otc and are often adequate to treat commom skin fungal/ringworm infections on skin (not beard/scalp areas). If not better in about 2 wks, consult doc for proper diagnosis/treatment. Good luck. ...Read more

Difficult...: It can be difficult to completely eradicate eczema but some measures that can decrease exacerbations include avoiding triggers that you are known to be allergic to, using mild soaps and detergents, frequent moisturizing with lotion (especially after bathing), etc. Use the triamcinolone cream on the affected area once the rash occurs until the area heals. See a skin doctor if it is worsening. ...Read more

Relax: Neither of these is toxic and both come in forms we give a baby by mouth. I would take the opportunity to get the poison control centers number and keep it by the phone. I would also scan the house for other ways baby can get into materials that could be poisonous or dangerous. Babies like to explore and unfortunately, they eat things to see how they taste. ...Read more
No.: It is not advisable to use triamcinolone (a steroid cream) on the face. Steroids are designed to be used as temporary anti-inflammatory agents on rashes. They work by suppressing the immune system. Over a period of time, the immune system adjusts and needs stronger steroids to obtain the same result. In addition, they destroy collagen in the skin which ages skin and they can cause steroid acne. ...Read more
No: Only antifungals will kill fungal infections. Purchase otc terbinafine, lotrimin or any topical antifungal and apply as directed. You must also purchase a antifungal spray powder such as micatin or tinactin (tolnaftate) and spray your shoes you wear once a week to kill the fungal spores in your shoes to prevent reoccurrence. Triamcinolone is a topical steroid and will not kill the fungal infection. ...Read more
