Confusing question: Penicillin would be an appropriate treatment for confirmed strep, but do nothing for the many viruses that infect the tonsils. If a quick test confirmed each episode as strep, sequential treatment that includes a penicillin followed in the last few days with Rifampin can eliminate strep in a carrier. Possibilmente: Recurrent tonsillitis can lead to scarring in the tonsils so that they are unable to protect themselves. Chronic infection can lead to fatigue and malaise (my interpretation of your saying, "i'm bored.") and possible autoimmune disorders. Treatment is usually tonsillectomy when repeated cycles of antibiotics prove ineffective. See your doctor for referral to ENT specialist. ...Read more

Chronic tonsillitis: Hopefully i understand your question correctly, but i think you're saying you are having chronic tonsil issues, perhaps with pain or sore throat or bad breath or swallowing issues. This could mean the tonsils are chronically infected with "biofilms" and that you may need to be evaluated for tonsillectomy. Other issues like reflux or masses should also be evaluated for at that appointment. ...Read more
