My big top my toe hurt. It have green and mark and blue mark. It hurt to bend down. It hurt to walk on it. What should I do? What wrong with my toe?

It's not toe late.: You've injured it somehow. The color is probably from bruising. Because you have damaged the toe, it may be difficult to move it. If it is not swollen, there's probably no severe damage. To remove all doubt, you might want to have it x-rayed. Since you did not say when this started, it is difficult to advise you to do anything else. Read more

What's wrong with my toe? Middle one hurts

Possible neuroma: If the pain is between the base of the middle toe and the toe next to the little toe (4th toe), this could be an enlarged, painful pinched nerve known as a morton's neuroma. Assuming there is no painful corn on the toe, other possibilities could be inflammatory conditions including gouty arthritis. Read more

Many things: Unfortunately, without a better description this could be many things. But classically things doctors think of that cause toe pain, are fractures (if you traumatized it) or gout/pseudogout (crystal problems that affect joints), even infections or non-infectious inflammation (like synovitis). You will get better answers if you are able to provide a bit more info. Best of luck. Read more

You: You probably have an infected ingrown toenail. You'll need the little piece of nail that's stuck in your skin removed and go on antibiotics for a week or so. The procedure to remove the piece of nail is quick, easy, simple and painless, and there is no pain afterward. The longer you take to go and get this fixed, the longer you'll be in pain. Do yourself a favor and visit your friendly podiatrist. Read more

Ankle hurts when I point toes foward, what could be wrong?

Tendinitis is common: When you point your toes forward, the tendons on top of your foot are being stretched maximally. If there is any strain or injury in these tendons, they will hurt when in this position. There is also the possibility of bone impingement in the front part of the ankle. This is generally an arthritic type condition if present. The more common presentations are soft tissue in nature. Read more

I have a corn at the side of my little toe, there is dead skin on it, but when I press it on, it hurts. What causes a "corn"?

Corn Protection.: Nothing more than hard skin caused by being compressed, agitated, rubbed and any other verb you can think of. The damage is being done by a toe bone, on the inside, and the shoe, on the outside. These two structures are trapping the skin, in the middle and causing the skin to thicken and harden. This is purely for protection, a kind of armor. The eventual pain helps fend off the further damage. Read more

I was diagnosed with a distal fibula avulsion about two weeks ago. Why does it hurt when I press down with my toes, but not when I push up?

Varies: There are several potential explanations for this. Plantar flexion will have a tendency to stretch the peroneal tendons, which are right near your zone if injury and so this may be irritating it. Dorsiflexuon will tend to relax them. This should resolve as you recover from your injury, I would let your doctor know in your follow up visit. Read more

If bruised, consider: If it's bruised and or swollen, consider you may have hit it in the middle of the night. Typically, you'll know within a day or two if symptoms subside. It may be a minor contusion, swelling that is compression a nerve or you could have fractured it. Protect it and hold off on the extreme hot/cold on it. See a podiatrist if the symptoms linger more than a couple days. Read more
