I am 28 weeks pregnant dr said baby is slightly big ... Wht are the reasons and is it something to worry about? Please help

A little concern: At 28weeks if the size is large or the estimated fetal weight is larger than expected by ultrasound or your perception or your doctor's perception then a repeat ultrasound should be done in 3-4 wks because a large baby can impact how delivery is done. Also at 28weeks the glucola or diabetes screening exam should be done to assure gestational diabetes is not a concern. ...Read more

Vasculitis: Or inflammation of the small blood vessels, please don't google much, the more you do the more you get confused, it is a self-limiting disease with no complications in most patients.I usually don't advice patients to surf the net open-endedly, either suggest certain trusted patient education websites, hand patients brochures if available, or spend time explaining, which isn't a luxury most MDs have ...Read more

12 week scan and the midwife said baby is fine but she couldn't get a clear view and asked me to come back, something about my uterus what's wrong?

12 week scan and the midwife said baby is fine but she couldn't get a clear view and asked me to come back, something about my uterus what's wrong?

Ask midwife: Not enough information here, but probably, the way your uterus was positioned during the "scan" was such that all the mid wife wanted to see was not available to see, ..So having you come back, when the baby may shift a little, would be appropriate to get a better look. But, you need to discuss the definitive reasoning with the midwife to assure all your questions are answered more effectively. ...Read more

Hi my grandson is 6yr old and is austic can talk he has been pulling on his peins a lot is that normal for him and now he is getting my daughters had to show her down there what could it be dr please help us ?

Could be infection: Urinary tract infection is quite common, much more in girls, but happens in boys too. Taking care of an autistic child is very challenging because of communication problems. Since he is pulling on his private and showing it to his mom, it is likely that he is having some trouble such as pain when he pees and urges to urinate etc... I suggest getting him to see his doc for eval/treat. Good luck. ...Read more

Concerns come in when you might have diabetes or some other pregnancy complication that would make the growth abnormal. Speak with your doctor so you understand any risks that you/baby might have. Is it possible the doctor is wrong about my baby's sex?

Is it possible the doctor is wrong about my baby's sex?

Depends: Features of gender are fully developed by 12 weeks but few are ever confident predicting sex by ultrasound before 18-20 weeks. The equipment used and skill of the examiner are variables.Male parts may or may not be displayed during the exam, so at best it is a learned guess. I don't paint the nursery based on an ultrasound. There are also rare conditions where sex is not easy to assign even at birth ...Read more
