Is there any known way to prevent uterine fibroids?

Genetic Predisposed: There is probably a large genetic component and they are working on gene therapy, but that is a way off. Fibroid "food" is estrogen, so often unopposed estrogen can make it grow. Stay away from soy products or other phytoestrogens. I've heard that lysine (used for varicose veins) may help. Also, acupuncture may help.
