Is there side effect for creatine? If I take it before workout?

Is there side effect for creatine? If I take it before workout?

Yes: I agree with dr nguyen. We see many patients with elevation in blood creatinine (creatine is broken down to creatinine). This can suggest kidney dysfunction. It may also cause water retention. There is some sketchy evidence that it builds muscle mass, and make you stronger for short bursts, but most doctors feel the potential or real harm outweighs the benefit of taking creatine. ...Read more

My blood pressure is not that high but i could possibly have pkd. Is it ok for me to take pre workout such as nitraflex or just avoid creatine?

PKD?: Do you have a family history of pkd? If you think you have pkd, ask your physician to order a renal ultrasound (u). If you have it, it will show up on the u. If you don't, the u will allay your fears. Then you can do as you please. Good luck. ...Read more

Are my chances higher to get kidney stones if i take pre workout supplements and creatine the same day of a workout?

Are my chances higher to get kidney stones if i take pre workout supplements and creatine the same day of a workout?

Not the key: Your history indicates you've already had kidney stones. The key for you will be staying well-hydrated. Creatine's great for a man putting on muscle, and protein's good after; i hope you're not spending much money on anything else and i trust you're a natural bodybuilder -- everyone i know who's tried artificial steroids has been sorry. Best wishes. ...Read more

Please advise if it's better to drink creatine as a pre-workout or post-workout ?

Creatine before: Creatine is a small molecule that helps with initial activity energy. It holds onto phosphorous in the muscle cells. Do I have to rest from taking creatine monohydrate? I've been taking it for 5 weeks as a pre-workout and I'm still taking it.

Do I have to rest from taking creatine monohydrate? I've been taking it for 5 weeks as a pre-workout and I'm still taking it.

No: Don't be a sucker. There are enough amino acids, vitamins and minerals to help bigger muscles w/o supplements in a "Quarter Pounder". The placebo effect makes millions of dollars for charlatans who offer nothing more scientific than testimonials. The Torah says the best place to hide a lie is between two truths. Stay healthy. Eat healthy and eschew the supplements ...Read more

Maybe: Androgenic steroids cause HBP but protein supplements shouldn't. I don't know what "assault" is or what's in it. If it has steoid or salt in its formula, it may be contributing. I see you had US of the kidneys. Are your creatinine, electrolytes, and urinalysis normal? Renal artery duplex exam is indicated. Urinary catecholamines are low yield but should be checked once. O/W just treat the BP. ...Read more

I started having white spots on my triceps and thigh region after consuming some bodybuilding supplements. One of them is a pre workout and creatine supplement. Is there any way to reduce or remove those white spots? It has been there for some time.

Maybe not related?: Not sure why supplements would cause white spots on the skin. Rashes are hard to describe in words. Some whitish spots are dry, sensitive skin spots (a mild form of eczema). However, some fungal infections can look like whitish spots if the problem is mild (tinea versicolor causes such spots). A primary care doctor or dermatologist can look to see what might be the best treatment. ...Read more
